now in bloom * mama's phalaenopsis

We lost all of our phalaenopsis orchids in the big cross-country move {including my favorite dreamcatcher, in bloom here, here, and here}  so sad.  Phals are not Ryan's favorite - they are considered easy to grow and he likes a challenge.  But I love them because their blooms can last for months.  L & R surprised me with this newbie for mama's day... I'm smitten with it's heart-shaped center.

Our orchids definitely took a beating with last winter's cross-country drive, but the ones that survived seem to be better for it.  This little green guy is always such a delight.

now in bloom * a special strawberry

This strawberry plant was from our wedding, she was part of the cake table decor... after the wedding, she lived outside our front door and survived many Oregon winters with very minimal care.  {she was the fighter, two others did not fair so well}   But sadly, she was forgotten and left behind when we moved across the country.  so. very. sad.  thank goodness I have a wonderful friend that plant-napped her for me and shipped her to us.  {thank you, friend! you're the best.}  With a new pot and lots of sunshine she's recovering well and apparently loves her new home!
